Ultimate Green Bay Packers 2022 Training Camp Player Preview
By Paul Bretl
Green Bay Packers training camp is just about here as it is set to begin next Wednesday. Not long after that, on August 12th, the Packers will then play their first preseason game against San Francisco.
This is an offense where the biggest questions center around the wide receiver position–most notably, who is going to be the guy for Aaron Rodgers in those high leverage situations? But when discussing the passing game, we can’t forget to mention Aaron Jones, AJ Dillon, and Robert Tonyan, all of whom will play important roles in the passing game.
Another thing to keep your eyes on is the health of the offensive line–specifically, when will Elgton Jenkins return, and will David Bakhtiari be available right away? Despite numerous injuries a season ago, this group held their own; however, it is fair to say that they weren’t as dominant as they had been in 2020.
Although many are wondering how this offense will function without Davante Adams, it is the offensive line that can be the catalyst behind their success.
Meanwhile, on defense, this unit has the potential to be one of the best in football, but depth at several positions, including edge rushers, cornerback, and safety, are major concerns. All eyes will also be on the special teams unit under the new coordinator Rich Bisaccia. Ultimately, the play on the field is what matters most, but there are several signs pointing to there being an added emphasis on the special teams unit this season.
To help you get ready for the first training camp practice, I have been doing player previews and various articles throughout the offseason. And while I haven’t completed the entire roster, I’ve completed a good portion of it and compiled them all in one place below.
