3. The Backup Quarterback Battle is Heating Up

Brett Hundley may have started for the Packers, but he hardly stole the show. His dime of a pass to Adams certainly got fans out of their seats to start the game, however, DeShone Kizer was quick to answer as his relief.

More from Green Bay Packers

Kizer drove Green Bay’s offense 87 yards only for the drive to end with no points after a failed fourth and goal attempt. He was able to carry that momentum into the second half with another lengthy 90-yard drive. A large chunk of it came from a 51-yard completion to rookie receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling who got behind the Titans’ secondary. Kizer finished the night completing 50 percent of his passes for a team-high 134 yards.

Last but not least, the undrafted rookie Tim Boyle showed why there has been so much buzz surrounding him in training camp. Boyle showed composure in the pocket completing 7 out of 15 passes for 130 yards and two touchdowns. His numbers would have looked even better had it not been for a few drops from his receivers.

After the game, Mike McCarthy favored Hundley’s performance out of all three quarterbacks.

“I thought Brett Hundley did some really good things,” McCarthy said. “I thought clearly his tempo was the best of the three quarterbacks.”

McCarthy’s praise for his four-year guy obviously came from an unbiased perspective, but there’s no denying that each one had an impressive showing.
