These Green Bay Packers stood out from the crowd in their Week 2 domination over the Detroit Lions.

There were plenty of highlights in the Green Bay Packers‘ offensive explosion, as they dropped more than 40 points for the second time in as many games on Sunday when they defeated the Detroit Lions. As they moved to 2-0 on the young season, head coach Matt LaFleur also improved to 8-0 against the NFC North on his young coaching career.

There are still areas to shore up, to be sure, but it was another encouraging outing for Green Bay, as they prepare for a major showdown with the New Orleans Saints in Week 3. Despite falling behind 14-3 early and showing a bit of sloppiness, they rebounded accordingly on their way to a 31-0 run and put the game out of reach by the end of the third quarter.

In order to celebrate some great individual performances, let’s award three game balls, one to each unit, for their contributions to Sunday’s victory.

Special Teams: JK Scott

More from Green Bay Packers

JK Scott hasn’t been needed very often this season–just one punt against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 1 and three punts in Week 2–but he’s been tremendous so far. All three of his punts in this contest landed inside the 20-yard-line, as two of them pinned the Lions deep into their own territory. They also had plenty of hang time, allowing his guys to get under them and provide excellent coverage. He started fast last season as well, so hopefully he can continue this momentum all season long.

Defense: Rashan Gary

After some declared the 2019 12th overall pick a bust following an extremely quiet rookie campaign, Rashan Gary has burst onto the scene in Year 2. After forcing an interception via a quarterback pressure last week, Gary did it again to Detroit. Only this time, the result was a Chandon Sullivan pick-six. He also recorded a team and career-high 1.5 sacks in this contest, including beating a double team for his solo sack. He now leads the team with 2.5 sacks on the young season, an impressive feat considering he shares the field with both Za’Darius Smith and Preston Smith.

Offense: Aaron Jones

For the second straight week, an Aaron was the star of the show. After Aaron Rodgers caught everyone’s attention against the Vikings, it was Aaron Jones who dominated this time around. Jones racked up a career-high 236 yards and added three touchdowns as well, as he was equally dangerous on the ground (168 yards) and through the air (four receptions for 68 yards). This dual-threat running back is a major problem for defenses and it’s about time you put some respect on his name.
