Green Bay Packers: Ranking their free agent signings
4. OL Billy Turner
Contract: Four years, $28 million
Turner is the most unproven of the four newcomers. He’s started 25 out of just 40 career games including 11 out of 16 in 2018 for the Denver Broncos. Yet, Turner does provide versatility with starting experience at guard and tackle.

Standing at 6-5 310 pounds, Turner is bigger than what the Packers have usually sought after for the build of their guards. However, under Matt LaFleur, the team could be taking a different approach, particularly along the offensive line. Turner has had success in zone blocking schemes which something you can expect out of LaFleur as well.
If there’s anything not to like about this signing it’s that the Packers paid Turner starting money even though he hasn’t shown the consistency of one throughout his five years in the NFL. As of right now, we can expect him to be starting at right guard opposite of Lane Taylor. Turner has a high floor and should be a reliable staple within the offensive line that can occasionally move to right tackle in case of emergency.
