Five moves that will make the Green Bay Packers Super Bowl contenders
By Paul Bretl
Sign Adam Humphries
Even though the Green Bay Packers have some promising young receivers in Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Equanimeous St. Brown, we saw the disconnect at times between them and quarterback Aaron Rodgers last season. So it will be important for the Packers to bring in an experienced receiver that can step in right away and take over the number two role with the likely departure of Randall Cobb.

Humphries would naturally take over the slot role and make an immediate impact. In 2018 he caught 76 passes for 816 yards and five touchdowns in what was an inconsistent Tampa Bay offense. His ability to rack up yards after the catch is what makes him a dangerous receiver amongst other qualities.
We all know how important trust is to Rodgers when it comes to targeting his receivers and Humphries is a player who would earn that almost immediately. From his precise route running to his reliable hands that had only three drops out of 103 passing attempts, he would quickly become one of Rodgers’ favorite targets.
With similar athletic measurements and skill set to Cobb, Humphries could be in store for some big seasons in Green Bay. If we look back at Cobb’s 2014 season, he posted 91 receptions for 1,287 yards and 12 touchdowns. Hopefully, we would see similar production from Humphries.
According to Spotrac, Humphries could earn around $10 million on the open market, but given he is just 26-years-old and entering his prime, he will be well worth the investment.
