A top priority for the Green Bay Packers this offseason should be signing a free agent safety, and these are three potential options that should be on their radar.

Heading into the 2018 season, safety didn’t seem like it was much of a concern for the Green Bay Packers. Pro Bowler Haha Clinton-Dix was returning for the final year of his contract, while Kentrell Brice and Josh Jones were expected to be contributors.

Unfortunately, this was far from the case. Clinton-Dix was eventually traded due to his lackluster play, Jermaine Whitehead was cut, Raven Greene and Ibraheim Campbell ended up on injured reserve, with Jones and Brice never panning out.

With roughly $36 million in cap space available this offseason, a portion of that needs to be used to address the need at safety. While they could look to the draft for a possible solution, the Green Bay Packers need someone who can step in day one and make an impact.

Many Packer fans would love to see Landon Collins brought in, but the New York Giants may not let him hit the open market. However, these three candidates all have a good possibility of hitting free agency.

Through the draft and free agency, the Green Bay Packers have greatly improved the cornerback position last offseason, and now it is time to solidify the back-end at safety.
