Tonight, two of the most historic NFL franchises will lock horns. Our own Green Bay Packers and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Joining us for this edition of Five Downs is the Still Curtain’s site expert Noah Strackbein. Noah tells us what to watch for and his odds on tonight’s Green Bay Packers vs Pittsburgh Steelers match-up being a potential Super Bowl preview.

Ever wondered if Steelers’ fans would pick Big Ben Roethlisberger over Aaron Rodgers? Read ahead and find out.

Dairyland Express:  Aaron Rodgers is set to see potentially, his only preseason action on Thursday night. Ben Roethlisberger has the overall better resume of the two. With that said, which quarterback are you taking, in the prime of their careers?

More from Dairyland Express

Still Curtain: As a Steelers expert, you go Ben Roethlisberger, but as a fan, you go Aaron Rodgers. It’s hard to deny that Rodgers has become one of the top two quarterbacks in the NFL. That being said, it would all depend on the style of play the offense ran. With Ben behind center, you have someone who will always be reliable to stay on the field and will constantly do what he needs to to make a play. Rodgers has the better mechanics and in an offense that had fewer weapons around him, you’d likely choose Rodgers.

Dairyland Express: What roster battles should Packers fans pay attention to going on in Steelers camp on Thursday night?

Still Curtain: Wide receiver. This wasn’t a major position battle going into the preseason, but with the emergence of Damoun Patterson, anything is now possible. Pittsburgh will be looking to test guys like Justin Hunter and Darrius Heyward-Bey, but if Patterson continues to play like he did in Week 1 he’ll continue to climb up the roster.

Dairyland Express: From a fan perspective, is it aggravating to see the struggle in getting Le’Veon Bell locked up long-term?

Still Curtain: Yes, the aggravation is towards both sides. Pittsburgh should’ve offered Bell more guaranteed money. $10 million wasn’t enough and everyone knew that going into the offseason. However, Bell’s actions since February were not helping his case. The hope that it was going to get done faded quickly this year and chances are he’s a free agent in 2019.

Dairyland Express: Outside of Aaron Rodgers, what player are you most excited to see play on the other side of the field?

Still Curtain: ESB. This one is personal because I’ve always been a huge Notre Dame fan. Equanimeous St. Brown was one of the most electrifying players for the Irish during his three years there. He fell in the draft but I still have high expectations for him. It’ll be fun to see him play in person on Thursday.

Dairyland Express: What odds would you put on this being a preview of Super Bowl LIII?

Still Curtain:  Strong. You can never count out a healthy Aaron Rodgers. Last season isn’t even a factor if he can stay healthy this year. For Pittsburgh, they’re improved on both sides of the ball this season and have motivation to prove their divisional round exit in 2017 was a mistake. This could very well be Super Bowl LIII.
