Player of the Week
If I wanted to, I could have legitimately given player of the week to Brandon Knight virtually every week this entire season. Knight has been the catalyst of this team, and I continue to like his game more and more as the season progresses.
Knight was the leading scorer for Milwaukee every night this week. In his four games, Knight totaled 26, 18, 14, and 20 respectively.
The one part of his game that needs work is him turning the ball over, but if that’s one of his only weaknesses then I’m not too worried.
The thing about Brandon Knight is that I don’t think Milwaukee will be able to get another point guard like him if they don’t resign him. Even when Parker was healthy earlier this year, Knight was the straw the stirred the drink.
He’s a fourth-year, 23-year-old point guard and his game continues to evolve every year. Milwaukee won’t be able to recruit a point guard with a ceiling/talent level like Knight has. At the right price, I think Knight is just as much part of the young core as Giannis, Parker, or Henson is.
It will certainly be interesting to see what direction Milwaukee decides to take with Knight after this season.
But before that happens, we still have to finish this great season! Like I said, the Bucks’ only game is Thursday afternoon in London against the New York Knicks.
