Player of the Week

In a week of the bench continuing its dominance, Ersan Ilyasova was the best of them all.

It’s nice to see Ersan starting to come alive and play more minutes as the season progresses.

Ilyasova broke out Friday night in Detroit, playing the most minutes (31) and scoring the most points (22) on the team.

We have heard that Jason Kidd is going to preserve his young stars this season and not play them big minutes yet.  That being said, Milwaukee needs to have a deep bench.  They need them to continue to help support this team throughout the season.

I think that production starts at Ersan, and he really followed through this week.

It’s going to be imperative that the bench continue to play well this season if Milwaukee wants to keep their head above water in the east.  It’s great to see the bench being a premier one in the NBA, but honestly the Bucks need that.  We can’t afford middle of the pack production from these guys right now.

Not while Jabari and Giannis are still developing.  The Bucks are going to need more weeks like this out of you, Ersan.

Next week is going to be a very telling week for Milwaukee.  I will be very surprised, but even more pleased, if Milwaukee can pull a 2-2 record these next four games.

Tuesday night Milwaukee gets their first taste of the revamped Cavs in Cleveland.  Wednesday night Milwaukee welcomes another Western Conference contender in the 13-5 Dallas Mavericks.  Friday night Milwaukee play the Heat again, this time in the Bradley Center.

And the Bucks close the week out with what seemingly will be their toughest task to date (you could argue Toronto), traveling to Dallas and playing the Mavs again Sunday night.

There’s going to be a lot to talk about next week, lets hope we still have some passengers on our small bandwagon.
