It’s safe to say the Green Bay Packers‘ special teams has been a disaster for most of recent memory. This is despite shuffling through multiple special teams coordinators and head coaches. yet, here we are again with Matt LaFleur promoting Maurice Drayton to the job for the 2021 season.

Some analysts say special teams is an indicator of team depth and if that’s the case it speaks extremely poorly for the Packers. Time and time again, this unit cost Green Bay big time in 2020 and the Packers need to be much better in every single phase. Let’s take a look at one guy who could help them in each of the phases (minus the kicking game where Mason Crosby is still a stud).

The Green Bay Packers should target any of these three special teamers in free agency to bolster the unit for the 2021 season.

Morgan Cox, long-snapper

The Packers could easily move on from long-snapper Hunter Bradley this season, as his performances have been far from ideal, especially last season. Fortunately, Morgan Cox, one of the best long-snappers, was just released by the Baltimore Ravens and is on the market. Green Bay should approach him quickly about joining the team.
