The Green Bay Packers find themselves in a peculiar spot this offseason when it comes to the offensive tackle spot. David Bakhtiari, their stud left tackle, tore his ACL at the end of December and his status is unknown entering next season. Ricky Wagner could also be a cut candidate before free agency begins. And Billy Turner might be best suited to play inside.

That’s not even mentioning that they are $28 million over the salary cap and need to figure out a myriad of ways to get under the cap and give them some flexibility to sign outside free agents. That leaves a lot of dominos to fall for the Packers before they can officially decide how to approach the offensive line. In the event they do get under the cap, like way under like I propose here, there are five free-agent offensive tackles they could target in free agency.

The Green Bay Packers could target any of these five offensive tackles in free agency to bolster their offensive line for the 2021 season.

Ty Nsekhe

With Bakhtiari and Wagner’s status in the air, signing a guy like Ty Nsekhe could provide them some short-term insurance in case Bakhtiari isn’t ready to return when the season begins. Nsekhe is a big dude (6-foot-8 and 330 pounds) who has been in the NFL for seven years now. Even if he doesn’t have a ton of starts under his belt (just 17 total) he has appeared in 81 games. That might give Green Bay an extra option in case they need some reps early on in the season.
