Josh Jackson was taken in the second round of 2018 NFL Draft, and was thought to be a steal at the time. Unfortunately, he’s showed why his stock fell dramatically leading up to the draft.
After playing a ton in his rookie season, he saw his playing time basically vanish in Year 2. It bounced back a little bit this season, but he still played fewer than half the snaps he accrued in 2018. When Kevin King went down in the early-middle of the season, it was Jackson who was given the opportunity to step up. He played in at least 45 snaps from Week 6 to Week 10. Unfortunately, his play was so bad, he only got on the field for three total plays from Week 11 on–mostly due to his healthy inactive status.
Jackson has another year left on his rookie deal, but his inability to play special teams has really hurt him. He’s purely a cover corner, minus the cover part of his job.
