5. How will the Packers’ improved secondary fare against an improved Bears’ passing game?

A lot of resources went into revamping the Packers’ secondary this offseason, most particularly, their cornerback position. The Packers paid Tramon Williams to return as well as using their first and second round draft picks on Jaire Alexander and Josh Jackson respectively.

All three players flashed in the preseason and, even in a worst-case scenario, bring a much deeper cornerback room to the table. Alexander, Jackson and last year’s second-round pick Kevin King bring unique skills and potential to the table. The sky may be the limit for the trio of youngsters.

Although the Bears are known for their passing game, it should be improved heading into the season. Mitch Trubisky, last year’s second overall pick, enters year two in the league and should take a step forward.

The Bears also worked very hard to provide him with weapons in the passing game. Second year running back Tarik Cohen is back and is a receiving threat out of the backfield. Joining him via free agency is Taylor Gabriel and Allen Robinson. It will be a nice test for both units to begin the season.
