1. CB Jaire Alexander

Grade- B

Green Bay’s 18th overall pick out of Louisville missed the first game against the Tennessee Titans, making his debut last Thursday taking on the Pittsburgh Steelers. It was a brief stint playing only ten snaps, however, Alexander benefited from a solid outing that didn’t include any blown coverages. He failed to record a tackle but looked good on a corner blitz.

More from Green Bay Packers

Heading into Week one, there’s a good chance he will be starting in the Packers’ nickel defense. Alexander has earned the respect of Aaron Rodgers who he picked off in early in training camp. Picking off the two-time MVP quarterback doesn’t come easy and goes a long way toward building confidence in a young player.

As he continues to work through a groin injury, the Green Bay medical staff will likely be very cautious in regards to Alexander’s preseason snap count. We didn’t get to see him at punt returner on Thursday, but practice reports indicate it won’t be long before we see Alexander fielding punts.

His athleticism and versatility bring something to the defense that this team hasn’t had in a long time.
