The Green Bay Packers capture back to back preseason wins after an impressive performance against the Pittsburgh Steelers. What three takeaways do we have from their blowout win?

The Green Bay Packers‘ rout of the Pittsburgh Steelers had it all- pick-sixes, sacks galore, and an Aaron Rodgers to Jimmy Graham touchdown. It was a step in the right direction for not only the first team offense, but plenty of backups on both sides of the ball.

Rodgers played only one series, but it looks like it will be all he needs for the 2018 preseason. The Packers offense went 40 yards in five plays with a big chunk of it coming from a catch and run by Davante Adams for 27 yards.

Five plays later inside the Pittsburgh 10, Rodgers found Jimmy Graham for what seemed like a routine touchdown. Head coach Mike McCarthy wanted the two to start building their connection with a few in-game reps and he should be pleased with the results.

“The biggest thing, the goal tonight with Aaron and that first drive was to get the ball in the end zone. I thought we did a nice job of that,” McCarthy said postgame.

We are a little over three weeks away from the regular season opener and the Rodgers-Graham connection already has the entire NFL on notice.

Not to go unnoticed, outside linebacker Reggie Gilbert was in the face of Pittsburgh’s quarterbacks for most of the night totaling 2.5 sacks and three quarterback hits. He was lining up opposite of Clay Matthews with regular starter Nick Perry still on the PUP list. Gilbert has separated himself as Green Bay’s third best edge rusher and should have no problems getting reps throughout the season.

Though the highly anticipated touchdown was the highlight of the night, there were plenty more storylines that came from the Packers’ dominating performance over the Steelers.

Here are three takeaways from their second preseason win:
