5. Which Quarterback Will Follow Rodgers?

With Aaron Rodgers set to start the game in Lambeau, there are even fewer snaps for the three backups who are vying for the roster. Each of them is building off impressive moments against the Titans, and facing a depleted Steelers squad could help as well. Let’s quickly break down each guy’s case to enter the game early.

More from Green Bay Packers

Brett Hundley is by far the most experienced and versed in Mike McCarthy’s offense and has drawn high praise from the head coach for his footwork and processing speed through the first couple weeks of camp. He also looked confident and poised during the first game, making several top level throws in tight coverage. He has done nothing in 2018 to drop him down the depth charts.

DeShone Kizer is the most naturally talented of the three with his combination of size, arm strength and natural athleticism and he also showed off all those traits last week. He made a nice deep throw to Marquez Valdes-Scantling during the game as well as being able to slide up in the pocket well.

Finally, we get to the fan favorite, Tim Boyle. The big-armed rookie had his struggles, namely on intermediate ball placement, but his deep ball is a thing of beauty. Confident and decisive with the ball, Boyle impressed a lot of people with his play. But he’s in the same boat as Kizer when it comes to the dissection of his play by McCarthy, namely that his footwork needs a lot of, well, work.

As for the game, expect it to be similar to last week with Hundley entering early on, then Kizer late in the second quarter and Boyle for the fourth.
