3. Kevin King

Even though the Packers loaded up at the cornerback position in the offseason by drafting Jaire Alexander and Joshua Jackson in the first two rounds of the draft and signing Tramon Williams, it has nothing to do with the play of Kevin King.

More from Green Bay Packers

King appears locked into one of the starting spots, as that’s where he lined up to begin practice on Thursday. He quickly made himself known by going up and intercepting a long ball from Aaron Rodgers.

He also has the praise and confidence of his teammates. Wide Receiver Davante Adams, the target of that interception by King, has this to say about the second-year cornerback, “I think as long as he’s healthy and he’s learning off of guys like Tramon, it’s going to push him and point him in the right direction. I think he has the potential to be one of best DBs in this league.” He continued to sing his praise throughout the interview.

Health is the key for King. He struggled with shoulder injuries at the University of Washington and that carried over to his rookie year. He took the offseason to get it under control and enters camp as healthy as ever. Let’s hope that continues into the season.
