Green Bay Packers: 5 players with the most to prove during training camp
5. Trevor Davis
Fans have a weird, unhealthy love for speed. Some believe it translates directly to success in the NFL. Such was the case with former Packers’ receiver Jeff Janis and is also true about Trevor Davis.

Davis was selected out of California in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draft. Even though he was a mid-round selection, many people had this belief he could come in and produce for Green Bay’s offense. That misconception was mostly rooted in his 4.42 40-yard dash.
Unfortunately, Davis has proven he can do little else besides quickly run in a straight line. In two seasons, he has accumulated a grand total of eight receptions for 94 yards and one touchdown. In an attempt to utilize his speed last season, the Packers’ also used him as the primary punt returner which became an equal disaster.
Davis still has two years remaining on his rookie deal, but could be a candidate to be a roster casualty if he doesn’t pick up his game. The Packers drafted three receivers this season and appear to be moving toward bigger bodied guys. That leaves Davis’ spot unknown and an extremely important training camp on the horizon for the third-year player.
