Just six days remain until the NFL Draft and for the first time since 2009, the Green Bay Packers are picking in the top half. Who should they take? We take a look at all seven rounds.

We are just six short days from the NFL Draft beginning in Arlington, Texas with the Cleveland Browns on the clock. But sitting there at No.14 is the Green Bay Packers, picking outside the 20’s for the first time since 2009.

And with the rash of quarterbacks likely to be selected in the first ten picks, that leaves a great deal of top-flight talent there for the taking for Brian Gutekunst and company. Whether it’s a pass rusher, a defensive back, or even a receiver or offensive lineman, the Packers are in a prime position to get a difference maker Thursday evening.

That’s where I come in. Using the great resource FanSpeak, I was able to do a simulation of the Draft while running 1265 Lombardi Avenue. Using the Big Board compiled by Bleacher Report’s Matt Miller, user-voted team needs, and their most difficult algorithm for accuracy.

And it is with great joy that I can say that I was able to address the Packers current needs on both sides of the ball for 2018 while also building for the future with some high upside guys. Let’s take a look at the 12 guys who we were able to grab during this Draft simulation.

For each pick, we’ll take a look at that they did in college, what two of the top evaluators out there (Lance Zierlein of NFL.com, Matt Miller of Bleacher Report) are saying about them, and where they’d fit on the Packers in 2018 and beyond.

This is the first in a three-part mock draft series by Dairyland Express in which we take on a regular mock (this one), a best-case scenario mock and a worst-case scenario. Be on the lookout for the other two in the days to come.
