The Green Bay Packers caught a falling star, they hope, on Saturday at the 2015 NFL Draft when they traded up in the fifth round to take UCLA quarterback Brett Hundley.

More from Green Bay Packers

The Packers traded their fifth- and seventh-round picks to the New England Patriots to move up 19 spots in the fifth-round, taking a pick the Patriots had originally acquired from the Cleveland Browns earlier in the day.

Hundley declared for the draft after his third year as UCLA’s career leader in touchdown passes with 75.

The Packers aren’t looking at Hundley completely as a developmental pick, despite Aaron Rodgers being entrenched as the starter. Green Bay also has veteran backup Scott Tolzien and recently signed free agent Matt Blanchard.

“I wouldn’t say he’s completely developmental,” Packers director of player personnel Eliot Wolf told the Green Bay Press-Gazette. “He’s played at a big-time program. Their offensive is obviously different from ours, but you can see all the big-time throws that he can make.

“Mechanically, that’s more of a question for the coaches than me, but they were encouraged by his development.”

Here’s a pick-by-pick look at the third day of the Packers at the NFL Draft, as well as the undrafted free agents the club signed or agreed to terms with following the end of the festivities in Chicago.

They chose Arizona State safety Damarious Randall in the first round on Thursday night and added Miami (Ohio) cornerback Quinten Rollins and Stanford wide receiver Ty Montgomery in the second and third rounds, respectively, on Friday.
