The Green Bay Packers aren’t likely to be major players in free agency, but can create the opportunity to sign some critical role players.

Entering the offseason, their major holes project to be at wide receiver, tight end, depth on the edge and safety. Green Bay will have the opportunity to address those needs in a multitude of ways, including via free agency, through the draft or by re-signing their own guys.

If they dip their toes into the free agency pool, they should aggressively pursue these four players to play critical roles in 2023.

The Green Bay Packers should aggressively pursue these four free agents this offseason to fill major holes on their roster.

Free agents Packers should aggressively pursue: Austin Hooper, Tight End

Both Marcedes Lewis and Robert Tonyan are free agents this offseason, leaving a massive hole at the position. Green Bay should draft a player in the early rounds (but not in the first) and pair him with a veteran tight end.

Lewis would be a good player to bring back. If they want an actual difference-maker, Hooper is their guy. He won’t cost as much as Hayden Hurst or Evan Engram, but is actually younger and almost as productive. After being cut by Cleveland, he landed on his feet with the Titans and showed some explosiveness to his game. That is much-needed in Green Bay and would be a terrific addition on a two-year deal.
