We are nearing the end of my Cut ’em or Keep ’em & Prediction series, but we still have a few more players to go. Up next is Green Bay Packers safety Adrian Amos.

With Green Bay being $50.7 million over the 2022 salary cap, and that doesn’t even take into account all expenses — which means there is more cap space to clear — there are going to be some difficult decisions this offseason for Brian Gutekunst and Russ Ball.

One way that the Packers can clear some of that cap space is by cutting under contract veterans who have a greater cap hit than dead cap hit. In this series, I’ve been taking a look at each of those potential cut candidates and discussing why Green Bay could move on from each player, why they could keep them, and of course, I make a prediction at the end.

If you’ve missed any of the articles, you can find them below.

Why the Green Bay Packers could cut Adrian Amos

Cap savings: $4.65 million

With each previous player that I’ve discussed, there has been at least a reason or two outside of the salary cap savings that Green Bay could choose to cut them. However, with Adrian Amos, I have nothing.

Other than the Packers really needing that $4.65 million in cap space — and I know things are tight, but there are plenty of other ways to make room — there is no good reason to move on from Amos. He is one of the most dependable safeties in football and this is a position lacking some real depth.
