One down: Errors galore

It’s not exactly a secret the Brewers defense has been a point of weakness during the first homestand of the season and the most recent series in St. Louis.

Through 13 games, the Brewers have committed 16 errors, leading the league, 10 of which were fielding, double that of any other team. Simply put, corralling the baseball has been a problem.

The old saying “hole in the glove” certainly applies to this team.

The middle infield has been particularly troublesome, with eight errors between Villar, Orlando Arcia, Hernan Perez, and Eric Sogard.

The only bright spot defensively has been their ability to turn double plays. They are currently ninth in the league with 26. For a more in-depth look at the Brewer’s defensive woes, check out this article from Brian Sampson.
