Sunday's encounter with the Dallas Cowboys wasn't as easy as some Green Bay Packers fans had hoped for. Star pass rusher Micah Parsons' return to AT&T Stadium didn't end in victory, nor did it result in a loss, as the Packers played the Cowboys to a 40-40 tie in what was a hide-scoring affair filled with nail-biting moments.
All eyes were on Parsons to show Cowboys owner/general manager Jerry Jones exactly what he was missing out on, and walking out of Arlington with the win would've been the perfect bow on a strong start to the season. But even though the Packers didn't taste victory on Sunday night, their top disruptor's latest performance was another example of why they traded for him in the first place.
Packers' Micah Parsons Stands Out in Tie vs. Cowboys
Parsons' pass rush prowess has been on full display since he moved to Green Bay, and his return to AT&T Stadium was no exception. The four-time Pro Bow defender finished the weekend with a team-leading eight pressures, generating six quarterback hurries while also tallying a sack and a QB hit.
His non-stop motor resulted in a game-high 94.3 Pro Football Focus pass rush grade, which is a new personal best for the 2025 season after picking up a 90.9 against the Cleveland Browns last week. Packers fans were already impressed with the early returns on this trade, so the fact that Parsons keeps improving with each passing game gives the fan base every right to be excited.
The Packers signed Parsons to a massive $186 million extension immediately after acquiring him, which is a decision that has already paid off. As long as he stays healthy and consistent, Green Bay will continue having one of the NFL's top pass rushes, hopefully, keeping them in Super Bowl contention for the foreseeable future.
With the team's bye week arriving in Week 5, Packers fans will have to wait a bit longer to see how Parsons will follow up on his latest effort. A Week 6 clash with the Cincinnati Bengals potentially has the former NFL Defensive Player of the Year finalist licking his lips, as the Bengals currently own the seventh-worst PFF pass block grade (50.6).
Parsons' return game vs. the Cowboys garnered a lot of attention in September, and it's finally time to put that storyline in the past. It's all about the Packers' Super Bowl aspirations going forward, and continued strong efforts from Parsons will help transform those dreams into a reality.
