Packers Breakout Candidates: Luke Musgrave

Tight ends are asked to do a lot in the passing and running games, including knowing all the assignments as a blocker and a receiver. That can sometimes stunt young players’ growth and require a few years to develop. Luke Musgrave had the same expectations to start his rookie season.

Musgrave hasn’t been as explosive as fans had hoped, but he’s getting there. He had his biggest play of the season in Week 9 when he caught a 25-yard touchdown on a nicely designed play. That could be a sign of things to come.

Musgrave has tremendous potential, and the Packers are very high on him. The primary question seems to be when will he start making more big plays. Hopefully, the answer is this season.
