5 Unsung Heroes for Packers Entering Week 5 Bye
Packers Unsung Heroes: Rasul Douglas
Rasul Douglas’s emergence in Green Bay is fully appreciated and recognized by Packers’ fans and those across the league. However, I don’t think we realize just how good he’s been to start the season.
His play recognition and football I.Q. are off the charts. The Raiders tried a trick play on Monday night when they handed off to Josh Jacobs, who stretched the field to the right side before trying to throw back across the field to his quarterback, who was behind him. Douglas sniffed it out and would’ve had an easy touchdown if Jacobs had made the throw. That’s just one example of how he’s always in the right spot.
He’s been targeted more than anyone in the passing game and has had some blemishes (notably against the Lions when he bit on a fake and gave up a walk-in touchdown). However, he’s been flying all over the field as a willing coverage corner and run supporter. He’s been, by far, their best cornerback this season.
