The Green Bay Packers have played roughly one-fourth of their season, and we still have much to learn about their entire team.
One way we’re trying to understand what they have in all of this young talent is by keeping a weekly Stock Market. Every week, I use PFF’s grades to help us understand who is trending in the right direction, who has work to do and who is maintaining the status quo.
Heading into the Packers’ Week 4 game against the Detroit Lions, here’s how their stock market looked.
Let’s check in on the Green Bay Packers stock market after Week 4, including updates on David Bakhtiari, Anders Carlson, and Royce Newman.

Packers’ Bear Market (Stock Falling)
Biggest Fallers: Royce Newman (-3), Kinglsey Enagbare (-2), David Bakhtiari (-1), Keisean Nixon (0),
Others: Carrington Valentine (-2), Jon Runyan (-2), Luke Musgrave (-1), Darnell Savage (-1), Kenny Clark (0), Lukas Van Ness (0), Rasheed Walker (0), Dontayvion Wicks (0)
The entire offensive line struggled on Thursday night, hence the appearance of three of their starters on this list. However, Royce Newman took the cake and has now seen his stock fall in three out of the Packers’ four games this season. He was the Packers’ lowest-graded player, allowing five hurries and a sack against the Lions. Green Bay must take a long, hard look at Sean Rhyan in the coming weeks.
Despite not playing, Bakhtiari makes it on the list because of his injury. After rarely practicing during training camp and not appearing in one preseason game, he suited up for the season opener and played very well. Unfortunately, he missed the next three games and landed on the Injured Reserve before kick-off on Thursday. NFL Network then released a report stating he had a minor surgery last week, will have a major one coming up, and will be out the rest of the season. I feel for the guy, as his career may be over.

Packers’ Unchanged
Josiah Deguara (-3), Tucker Kraft (-2), AJ Dillon (-2), Isaiah McDuffie (-1), Dallin Leavitt (-1), Samori Toure (-1), Josh Myers (-1), Jonathan Owens (-1), Colby Wooden (-1), Matt Orzech (-1), Kiondre Thomas (0), Christian Watson (0), Ben Sims (0), Rudy Ford (0), Kristian Welch (0), Karl Brooks (0), Devonte Wyatt (0), Justin Hollins (0), Corey Ballentine (0), Rasul Douglas (+1), Preston Smith (+1), Quay Walker (+1), TJ Slaton (+1), Eric Wilson (+1), Zach Tom (+1), Jordan Love (+1), Jayden Reed (+1), Aaron Jones (+1)
After being one of the worst Packers through the first three weeks, Josiah Deguara finally had an adequate game. He’s primarily used as a blocker and was solid in both pass and run blocking against the Lions.
I could’ve given Jordan Love a minus grade for this one, considering he threw two interceptions and looked out of sorts. However, it’s difficult to grade him when his offensive line couldn’t give him any protection. He was pressured on nearly half his passing attempts and usually had a guy in his face. They need to be better up front before we can fairly grade Love’s performance.

Packers Bull Market (Stock Rising)
Biggest Risers: Daniel Whelan (+2), Rashan Gary (+3), Anders Carlson (+3),
Others: Romeo Doubs (+3)
Rashan Gary was on another snap count against Detroit, but continued to wreak havoc. In just 14 pass rush attempts, he recorded four quarterback pressures, including one hit. With eleven days in between games, hopefully, Gary can play a bit more in Week 5 and start to impact games at an even higher level.
The Packers’ specialists also make an appearance on this list and deserve credit for stabilizing the special teams through the first four games. Daniel Whelan had some great punts with terrific hang time, allowing his coverage unit to get downfield. Anders Carlson continues to be perfect on the season after hitting both of his field goals, including a 50-yarder.
