The Chicago Bears lost their unofficial owner when the Green Bay Packers traded legendary quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

With Rodgers’ departure, Chicago hopes the rivalry will stop being one-sided.

The Packers are 47-15 against the Bears since 1992. That is when Brett Favre took over as the Packers starting quarterback.

He went 22-10 in the Packers, Bears rivalry. Rodgers did even better with a 24-5 record that included the 2010 NFC Championship Game win over the Bears. The all-time series flipped from the Bears dominating the wins and losses of the series to the Green Bay Packers.

Now that Rodgers is out, Bears fans are hoping Jordan Love does not continue Green Bay’s dominance. Bears players are hoping with Rodgers out of the division, the NFC North is now wide open.

When asked about how wide open the division is, one player took an opportunity to give his thoughts about the green and gold fan base.

The Chicago fan base is loving the shade Justin Jones threw at those who back the Pack. On the other hand, Packers fans did not particularly enjoy it.

Needless to say, his comments served as a little gasoline that was thrown on the flames of this legendary rivalry.

Maybe with Rodgers being gone, the heat in the Packers and Bears rivalry will reach the levels it was at before 1992.

Green Bay fans still love it when the Pack beat the Bears, but the Minnesota Vikings have passed Chicago in terms of the most hated team. Maybe it is because the Vikings and the Packers have competed for the NFC North title more than the Bears.

A defensive tackle’s comments will not return the level of hatred the rivalry reached, like when Charles Martin threw Jim McMahon to the Soldier Field turf.

Jones is a decent player, but he is not on the level of Brian Urlacher. Jones did play well at Lambeau Field last year. He had eight tackles, with two that went for a loss. He did not play well in the return match at Soldier Field, with just two tackles.

His words do expose one thing–no one is afraid of the Green Bay Packers right now. Aaron Rodgers gave the Pack that sense of invincibility. Then again, the trash talk was happening when Brett Favre left because that is what happens when you have an unknown player in the most important position.

Maybe Jordan Love will continue the Hall of Fame quarterback dominating the Chicago Bears tradition. If he does that, the Green Bay Packers will regain that air of invincibility.
