Best remaining free agent fits for Packers: Julio Jones, Wide Receiver

This is not the same version of Julio Jones that everyone remembers. He’s appeared in 10 or fewer games in each of the last three years, and only caught 24 receptions for 299 yards and two touchdowns last year.

However, the Packers aren’t looking for a difference-maker at wide receiver. They hope they already have those in Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs and Jayden Reed. They are looking for someone to mentor the younger guys in the locker room.

Matt LaFleur talked about his hope to add a veteran early this offseason, and it has yet to happen. Jones can teach the younger players the ropes and help them understand the complex nuances of route running. He could even help in a game or two as wide receiver 4.
