Packers with expanded roles: Devonte Wyatt/T.J. Slaton

The Packers’ defensive line underwhelmed last year, there’s no other way to put it. A group that included Kenny Clark, Dean Lowry, Jarran Reed and 2022 first-round pick Devonte Wyatt was supposed to be a strength of the defense. Instead, they struggled to fill their role.

Lowry and Reed moved on in unrestricted free agency, forcing Wyatt and T.J. Slaton to move up the depth chart. Wyatt should be the starter alongside Clark and will be asked to play like the first-round draft pick his status indicates.

Slaton will likely be third on the depth chart and will get plenty of opportunities in the rotation. He flashed his skills last year, but needs to be a lot more consistent in 2023.
