The Green Bay Packers certainly have a lot of holes they need to fill this offseason. However, they also have some strengths to build upon as well.

The Packers have hit on just enough moves to make them competitive, giving them the chance to return to the playoffs next season with a few key moves. That means they must be smart with their limited resources and not use them to address gaps that don’t exist.

Green Bay has already begun clearing cap space and has a path to creating significant room. If they maximize this year’s space, they could sign one of the top free agents available. However, there are certain positions they should stay away from.

The Green Bay Packers have plenty of needs heading into the 2023 offseason, but they should avoid these four positions in free agency.

Positions Packers should avoid in free agency: Inside linebacker

Green Bay has used a lot of capital in recent years on the inside linebacker position. They signed De’Vondre Campbell to a five-year, $50 million deal last offseason that keeps him under contract through 2026. They also used a 2022 first-round pick on Quay Walker. Krys Barnes is a restricted free agent, but he’s also a capable backup. All said, the Packers are covered at this position.
