The Green Bay Packers are preparing to head into the 2023 offseason, which officially starts on March 15th. This means clearing cap space so they are in legal standing with the salary cap, mapping out a draft and free agency plan, and deciding which of their own free agents they want o keep and which they can’t afford.

We’ve already covered some of the Packers’ free agents, including which ones are restricted and which players have void years Green Bay must pay on the 2023 cap. This group of unrestricted free agents will overlap some with those who have void years, but they can still be re-signed under normal free agency rules.

Without further ado, let’s check in on some of the key players set to hit free agency.

Here are all 13 members of the Green Bay Packers who are currently set to hit unrestricted free agency in the 2023 offseason.

  • Adrian Amos, Safety
  • Mason Crosby, Kicker
  • Randall Cobb, Wide Receiver
  • Allen Lazard, Wide Receiver
  • Robert Tonyan, Tight End
  • Marcedes Lewis, Tight End
  • Dean Lowry, Defensive Line
  • Jarran Reed, Defensive Line
  • Dallin Leavitt, Safety
  • Rudy Ford, Safety
  • Keisean Nixon, Cornerback
  • Eric Wilson, Edge
  • Justin Hollins, Edge

Adrian Amos

Amos has the biggest void year on the Packers’ salary cap at $7.95 million. That’s a lot for a player who is coming off the worst season of his career and will soon be 30-years-old. Before 2023, he was a solid starter, communicator, and team leader. We’ll see how interested the Packers are in bringing him back, considering they don’t have any better options currently on the roster.

Wide Receiver

Cobb and Lazard are set to hit unrestricted free agents and both players have a real chance of not being re-signed. They have great chemistry with Aaron Rodgers, but the Packers must make a decision about him as well. Lazard wants too much money considering his lack of receiving production, and Cobb has been trending down for years now. It may be time for a youth movement at the position.

Tight End

Unlike wide receiver, the Packers don’t have a long-term plan at tight end: No Christian Watsons or Romeo Doubs are waiting in the wings. With Tonyan and Lewis both free agents, it will be interesting to see their market. Lewis could be brought back on a minimal contract, while Tonyan is likely seeking a nice payday.

Special Teams

Green Bay has several key special teams free agents hitting the market: Ford, Nixon, Crosby, and Wilson. They’ll probably prioritize all of them and love to bring them back. Nixon was too good last season to let walk after they finally solved their kick return woes. Ford provides depth at safety and Wilson was a special teams stud. As for Crosby, his time is coming to an end, but he could come back for another year or two as the Packers search out a long-term replacement at kicker.
