The Green Bay Packers have their own current free agents to worry about, but it’s always fun to glance around the league to see what is happening. I did just that and found 13 former Packers who are hitting the market this offseason.

Some of them–Josh Jones, Josh Jackson, and Richard Rodgers–are blasts from the past. I honestly didn’t know they were still around the NFL, nonetheless, continuing to collect paychecks from other teams.

Here’s a list of all 13 former Packers and some notes on a few of them.

Plenty of former Green Bay Packers are hitting the free agency market in the 2023 offseason. Here are all 13 of them.

  • Sammy Watkins
  • Richard Rodgers
  • Josh Jones
  • Josh Jackson
  • Isaac Yiadom
  • Tim Boyle
  • Jaylon Smith
  • Cole Van Lanen
  • J.K. Scott
  • Chandon Sullivan
  • Jake Kumerow
  • Jamaal Williams
  • Billy Turner

Richard Rodgers

To be honest, I forgot all about Richard Rodgers. He was drafted in the third round way back in 2014, spent the first four years of his career in Green Bay, and caught a sweet Hail Mary from Aaron Rodgers to beat the Detroit Lions. That was probably the best moment of his Packers’ career. He’s somehow found a way to stick in the NFL, playing for the Philadelphia Eagles for four years before suiting up for the Los Angeles Chargers last year.

Josh Jones/Josh Jackson

A second-round pick in 2017, Jones is part of a long list of failed early draft picks at cornerback and safety. He only lasted two years in Green Bay and has drifted across the league ever since–playing for four teams over the last four years. Add Josh Jackson, a second-round selection in 2018, to that list as well.

Tim Boyle

The Packers are in the market for another quarterback and could circle back to Boyle. He played for the Detroit Lions in 2021 and Chicago Bears in 2022, starting three games in Detroit. He’s not someone you want as your primary backup, but he could be a serviceable third-string QB.

Jake Kumerow

Kumerow will live in Packers’ lore as the receiver that got away. Errr…at least according to Aaron Rodgers. Since Green Bay cut him in 2020, Touchdown Jesus has amassed a total of seven receptions for 114 yards and one touchdown. It’s safe to say the Packers’ front office knew what they were doing with this move.
