The Green Bay Packers need to beat the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday if they want to keep their playoff hopes alive. That’s a non-negotiable.

They got every ounce of help they could think of in Week 16 and are off to a good start in Week 17 with a Dallas Cowboys’ victory on Thursday Night Football. It’s up to Green Bay to continue that momentum in their game.

The Packers lost to the Vikings in an uninspiring performance in Week 1. A lot has changed since then, including a terrible Green Bay season and many close victories by the Vikings. Minnesota still has a chance to catch the Philadelphia Eagles for the top seed in the NFC, giving them plenty to play for.

Bold Prediction 3: Justin Jefferson goes off on Packers’ secondary…again

Packers’ defensive coordinator Joe Barry drew the early ire of fans when he implemented a mostly zone scheme against Minnesota in Week 1. That led to Justin Jefferson having a field day on his way to nine receptions for 184 yards and two touchdowns.

I expect Jaire Alexander to follow Jefferson a bit more this time, but it won’t help. Jefferson is the premiere receiver in the NFL and Kirk Cousins loves to target him early and often. Earlier this week, Alexander called Jefferson’s performance in Week 1 a fluke. Unfortunately, it’s anything but.
