Packers who need to play better: Robert Tonyan

Robert Tonyan is now on the other side of one year since he tore his ACL and just had an extra week to rest and recover. It’s time he returned to his 2020 form.

Green Bay ranks 22nd in red zone scoring percentage, in part, because they don’t have an elite red zone target. At his peak, Tonyan caught 11 touchdowns and was the ultimate weapon close to the goal line. He hasn’t been anything close to that this season and only has one touchdown to speak of.

Tonyan’s big play ability has also disappeared. His 8.3 yards per reception is the lowest of his career and is three yards fewer than the last two years. The Packers’ offense desperately needs a kickstart and Tonyan could fill a major void.
