*(Knocks on wood). The Green Bay Packers enter Sunday’s game against the New England Patriots having won two straight games and could be at the beginning of a long winning streak.

After starting with a disappointing loss to the Minnesota Vikings, Green Bay appears to be on the right path heading into October. They haven’t looked great in their back-to-back wins, but there has been clear improvement.

Green Bay got into the win column in Week 2 when they handily beat the Chicago Bears 27-10. It wasn’t always pretty, but the Packers’ defense tightened up after an opening drive touchdown, allowing the offense to get going in the right direction.

The defense did the heavy lifting again last week and only held the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to 12 points. Granted, they were missing a number of their key playmakers, but it’s still nice to see the D do what they were supposed to against an overmatched unit. The special teams also contributed to that victory–a refreshing change.

The Green Bay Packers have a favorable stretch of games that could set them up to be at the beginning of a long winning streak.

Looking ahead, the schedule looks favorable for the Packers to continue their winning streak.

First up is a home game against the Patriots. New England enters the game at 1-2 and will be missing starting quarterback Mac Jones and wide receiver Jakobi Meyers, among others. Green Bay is getting a bit healthier with David Bakhtiari set to play his second straight game and able to increase his snap count. Christian Watson also looks ready to return after missing last week’s game with a hamstring injury.

The Packers travel to London next week to take on the New York Giants in a home game. Granted, the Giants are 2-1 heading into Week 4, but the Packers should be heavy favorites in that one. New York is doing some nice things this season, but isn’t on the same level as the Packers.

The next week, Green Bay has another home game against the lowly New York Jets. The Jets are 1-2 and will have a slim chance of upsetting the Packers. The soft schedule continues with a road game against Washington in Week 7. The Commanders are 1-2 as well and will be overmatched against the Packers.

Next. 3 Packers who deserve more playing time in Week 4. dark

That sets the Packers up nicely to be 6-1 and riding a six-game win streak (knocks on wood again) heading into a showdown against the Buffalo Bills. Green Bay needs to take advantage of this soft schedule early in the season because the tide turns down the stretch when they have games against the Cowboys, Titans, Eagles, Rams, Dolphins and Vikings remaining.
