Everything is even in the NFC North after two games, as the Green Bay Packers (1-1) are tied with the other three teams for the division lead.

Green Bay lost their season-opener in a disappointing fashion to the Minnesota Vikings. They came out flat for the second straight season and were embarrassed in the first regular season game. That’s become a disturbing trend under head coach Matt LaFleur and needs to be rectified in the future.

Fortunately, they bounced back nicely against the Chicago Bears in Week 2. The Packers weren’t perfect by any means, but the Bears are always a good team to right the ship against.

The Green Bay Packers are in a four-way tie in the NFC North following the completion of the first two games of the regular season.

Chicago was riding high following a surprising victory over the San Francisco 49ers in Week 1. They limited the 49ers’ offense and made just enough plays to eek by on the scoreboard. Of course, the monsoon that occurred during the game made the field extremely wet and played a heavy factor in the outcome.

The Detroit Lions, meanwhile, were coming off a close defeat at the hands of the Philadelphia Eagles. They’ve shown pretty good offensive firepower in the first two weeks and are averaging 35.5 points per game. The defense hasn’t lived up to the hype, but they did enough in Week 2 to take down Washington 36-27.

The Eagles have feasted on the NFC North to begin the year, first beating Detroit and then embarrassing the Vikings on Monday Night Football. The Vikings again proved that the Super Bowl hangover is real and came out flat against Philly, as Kirk Cousins set the tone by throwing three interceptions.

That brings us to a 1-1 record for each of the four teams in the NFC North.

The Packers need to continue focusing on themselves, as they have another difficult matchup next week when they travel to Tampa Bay to take on the Buccaneers. Meanwhile, the Bears host the 0-1-1 Houston Texans while the Lions play at Minnesota.

There’s still plenty of football left to be played, but it appears the NFC North could be more competitive than originally thought. With the exception of the Bears, the other three teams have had their moments to kick off the season and could be in contention to win the division at the end of the year.
