Packers’ power rankings: Ranking every player after Week 2 victory
After an abysmal showing in the first-ever Green Bay Packers’ player’s power rankings, Week 2 brought a victory and more positivity from individual performances.
Last week we unleashed the Packers’ stock market and rebranded it to player power rankings from here on out.
Every player began the year in neutral territory with a score of zero. From there, they will gain or lose points every week depending on their individual performances (based only on offensive or defensive snaps) and PFF grades. We’ll keep a running tally throughout the season to rank the players based on their points gained or lost.
There are five categories–Crashing (a loss of two points from the previous game), Trending Down (a points loss between 1.9 to 0.1), Maintaining (zero points lost or gained), Trending Up (a points gain between .1 and 1.9), and Skyrocketing (a gain of two points). At the end, we’ll tally up the player’s points for the season and rank them in order.
First, assigning points to every player who played offensive or defensive snaps based on their individual Week 2 performances.
Here is a ranking of every Green Bay Packers’ player following their victory over the Bears. The ranking includes points from Week 2 and a season total.
Crashing
Devonte Wyatt (-2), TJ Slaton (-2), Jonathan Garvin (-2)
Devonte Wyatt has quietly been a major bust for the Packers. Quay Walker’s impressive performances have saved the 2022 first-round pick, but he’s off to a very slow start to his career. Wyatt and Slaton’s struggles speak to the larger struggles of the defensive line. Garvin is the only player to appear in this category in the first two weeks.
