It’s common practice for teams around the NFL to workout players on Tuesdays, which is what the Green Bay Packers did this week prior to their Week 1 matchup with Minnesota.

As we’ve seen from Brian Gutekunst during his time as general manager, he isn’t afraid to rotate players through the practice squad as needed.

Now, this also doesn’t necessarily mean that a signing is imminent either as, oftentimes, teams will work out players early on in the year in the event that they may need to add to the roster later on.

So with that in mind, here is a closer look at the four players that the Green Bay Packers had in for workouts.

IDL Kevin Atkins

Atkins went undrafted in this most recent draft after spending his college career at Fresno State. He is also someone who met with the Green Bay Packers as part of the pre-draft process.

Atkins is an experienced college player with over 2,400 career snaps in five seasons with the Bulldogs. He recorded 30 pressures in his final season, the 19th most among defensive tackles, along with eight sacks and 13 tackles for loss.

Atkins would rank 96th out of 193 eligible interior defenders in PFF’s run-blocking grade. He spent most of his career in the B-gap but does have almost 500 snaps as a 5-tech as well.

DB Darrell Baker

Baker is another undrafted rookie from the 2022 draft class, having played five seasons at Georgia Southern. He spent most of his time on the boundary but was a versatile defender playing in the slot, the box, and as the free safety.

Over his career, Baker allowed a completion rate of only 53% on 155 targets at 15 yards per catch. He also logged three interceptions and 13 pass breakups. Baker was a part of 381 total special teams snaps as well.

CB Olaijah Griffin

Griffin went undrafted in 2021 out of USC. He has no regular-season NFL experience.

In three seasons with the Trojans, Griffin was a boundary cornerback who allowed just 36 completions on 79 targets (45%) with one interception and seven pass breakups. He was also a fairly reliable tackler during his collegiate career.

WR KeeSean Johnson

Johnson was a sixth-round pick by Arizona in 2019 out of Fresno State. During the 2019 and 2020 NFL seasons, Johnson was targeted 63 times, catching 36 of those passes (57%) at 10 yards per reception with a touchdown. He’s spent most of his NFL career lined up outside but does have slot experience.

In college, Johnson caught 65% of his whopping 423 targets and averaged 12.6 yards per catch with 24 touchdowns.
