There are a lot of unknowns surrounding this Green Bay Packers team entering 2022–specifically on the offensive side of the ball. And with unknowns come concerns.

However, this is still a very talented roster, led by the back-to-back MVP in Aaron Rodgers–so there are plenty of reasons for optimism heading into the 2022 season as well.

Today, I discuss my five big reasons on why we should feel good about his Green Bay Packers team.

Green Bay Packers have Aaron Rodgers and Matt LaFleur

Many have spent the offseason wondering how the Green Bay Packers will replace Davante Adams–and in short, the answer is that they won’t. This wide receiver room simply won’t be as good as it was in previous years.

However, that doesn’t mean this group can’t be effective either. It’s just going to take Matt LaFleur and Aaron Rodgers to elevate this unit–which is something that both can do.

As a play caller, LaFleur is very good about creating space for his pass catchers through his play designs. This, of course, will be important, given that the receivers on this roster don’t possess the ability to create their own space like Adams did. Using pre-snap motion and having the opponent respect the run game will be crucial as well.

Rodgers will also need to elevate this receiver room with his play. The Packers just signed him to a massive extension, rewarding him for his MVP play the last two seasons, and this offense will need him to play at an elite level once again.

Over the previous two years, Rodgers has completed nearly 70% of his passes with 85 touchdowns to only nine interceptions with over 8,400 total passing yards and a quarterback rating of 116.7.

No, he won’t have Adams to lean on anymore, but with Rodgers being Rodgers and LaFleur’s play-calling, there is something to be said for the level of difficulty that the defense will face with Rodgers about to snap the ball and the opponent having no idea where the ball is going to go.
