The Wisconsin Football program not only recently landed their 11th commitment for the 2023 class, but also their highest-ranked recruit as well.

After taking an official visit in mid-June, four-star cornerback Jace Arnold has announced his commitment to the Badgers.

What you need to know about the newest member of the Wisconsin Football team

Arnold stands 5’10” and weighs 168 pounds, according to 247Sports. He is from Marietta, Georgia, and is the 33rd ranked cornerback in the 2023 class, along with being the 32nd ranked overall prospect from the state of Georgia.

In addition to the Badgers, Arnold had 11 other offers, several of which were from SEC schools, such as the defending Nation Champion Georgia Bulldogs, along with Florida, Tennessee, Ole Miss, and Mississippi State.

As Badger247’s Evan Flood would note, Arnold logged 36 tackles as a Junior, three of which were for a loss, and six pass breakups. Flood would also add that Arnold brings versatility to Jim Leonhard’s defense, as he’s able to line up in the slot, on the boundary, and could even take some snaps at safety.

Arnold will be joining a Badgers defense that has consistently been one of the best in the country under Leonhard. Last season, Wisconsin ranked first in fewest yards per game allowed, including giving up the fourth-fewest through the air, along with allowing the third-fewest touchdowns, according to NCAA.com.

Joining Arnold in the 2023 class at the cornerback position will be AJ Tisdell. For the upcoming year, Wisconsin will be without Faion Hicks and Caesar Williams but they did add Jay Shaw, Justin Clark, and Cedrick Dort through the transfer portal, along with having some young returning players of their own.

The other nine members of Wisconsin’s 2023 class include Roderick Pierce (IDL), Jacques Keyes (RB), Jordan Mayer (Edge), James Durand (IOL), Trech Kekahuna (ATH), Justin Taylor (ATH), Nate White (RB), Tyler Jansey (LB), and Collin Dixon (WR).

As of now, the Badgers 2023 class ranks 28th in the nation and eighth in the Big Ten, per 247Sports. However, they will be on the rise as those rankings do not yet take into account the addition of Arnold.
