The Wisconsin Football program has landed a pair of verbal commitments in the 2023 recruiting class over the last few days–giving them four in total.

What you need to know about each of the Wisconsin Football program’s latest commitments in the 2023 recruiting class.

On Friday, athlete Justin Taylor would commit to the program. According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Taylor, who stands 6’0″ and weighs 187 pounds, is a three-star recruit from Nazareth Academy in Illinois. He is the 85th-rated athlete in the 2023 class and the 26th highest-ranked player in Illinois.

During his junior season, Taylor would carry the ball 33 times and total 226 rushing yards while also recording over 800 yards through the air with 13 touchdowns, according to 247Sports.

With the Badgers, Taylor will begin his collegiate career as a safety, however. In addition to Wisconsin, he also had offers from Air Force, Kansas State, Ball State, and Bowling Green, along with several others.

Wisconsin’s other commitment on Friday came from Jaquez Keyes, a running back from Ironton, Ohio. By 247Sports composite rankings, Keyes is another three-star recruit, and the 29th ranked running back in the 2023 class, along with being the 12th best prospect in Ohio.

At 6’1″ – 207 pounds, Keyes is a well-put-together running back prospect, with Evan Flood calling him an “impressive physical specimen.” As a junior, he would record nearly 1,100 rushing yards along with 11 touchdowns and did so on only 94 carries. Keyes yards per carry average was at a whopping 11.4.

Keyes would also receive scholarship offers from Akron, Iowa, Pittsburgh, and West Virginia, among many others.

Keyes and Taylor will now join Tyler Jansey, a three-start linebacker, and James Durand, a three-star interior offensive lineman, as the four commitments to the 2023 Wisconsin Football team. While it is still very early in the recruiting process, the Badgers’ current class ranks 40th in the nation.
