The 2022 NFL Draft has come and gone, and the Green Bay Packers finished Day 3 by making seven selections in Rounds 4 through 7.

This coming week we will begin diving into each of the Packers’ draft selections, but first, let’s look back at what took place on Day 3 with my 3 Big Things.

The Green Bay Packers got tremendous value on Day 3

Ultimately, when it comes to putting on the pads and playing football, value — or where a player was selected in comparison to where we thought they would be selected — just doesn’t matter. However, in terms of discussing Green Bay’s draft class — which is what we are here to do — Brian Gutekunst found tremendous value on Day 3.

Using the big board of Dan Brugler from The Athletic ($$), he had Zach Tom rated as his 131st overall prospect–the Green Bay Packers would select him at 142 overall. Green Bay then selected Kingsley Enagbare with the last pick in the fifth round at 179 overall, and he is actually the 69th best player on Brugler’s board. Lastly, Rasheed Walker was selected at 249th overall and he was the 113th ranked prospect on the big board.

According to Sharp Football, the Packers draft class would rank second overall in terms of value of their selections.

Following the first round, I mentioned that the board didn’t fall very nicely for the Packers when it came to landing a wide receiver. However, on Day 3, it was quite kind as it allowed them to address several positions of need and do so on a few occasions with players who were valued quite highly coming into the draft.
