In this latest mock draft, I assumed the role of General Manager for the Green Bay Packers and decided to make an aggressive trade up in the first round to fill a need.

The Packers have two late first round picks, and need impact players instantly. With Aaron Rodgers back in town, and a title window still very much open, positions of need have to be filled with guys who can make an impact from Day 1. I tried to do just that in this three round mock.

The Trade: Packers Receive: Picks 15 and 83

Eagles Receive: Picks 22, 59, 249

I may have given too much for moving up only seven spots, but the way this draft was going, I felt I had to make a move to get the guy who fell to 15.

Brian Gutekunst has been known to be active in trade talks in the first round in the past, with plenty of draft capital available this time around, I see trading up as a very realistic possibility for the Packers.

Pick 15 ( From Philadelphia) : Drake London, WR, USC

London has quickly become one of the top receiving prospects in this draft class. He has the physical tools, and ball skills to become a WR 1 in the NFL early on in his career. With the departure of Davante Adams this offseason, the Packers have a huge void in their receiving room, and I see no better fit than Drake London.

I expected him to go earlier than pick 15, but when he fell as far as he did, I had to make the aggressive move to grab him. London lacks the top tier speed of some members of the class, but he makes up for it in his ability to flat out make plays on the ball.

I would love to see Drake London share the field with Aaron Rodgers, I believe it would be a match made in heaven, and would be a nightmare for opposing secondaries. London provides the missing piece the Packers need, a physical, athletically gifted wide receiver who can win 50/50 balls.
