With the first round of the NFL Draft now less than a week away, this will be the penultimate version of the Green Bay Packers Mock Draft Roundup & Takeaways.
As you can imagine, there were plenty of wide receiver selections, but other positions of need to keep in mind, include bolstering the tight end and safety depth for the coming years. Creating competition at right tackle for Yosh Nijman until Elgton Jenkins returns, along with finding a reliable third edge rusher.
So with that in mind, here is who several draft analysts have the Green Bay Packers selecting in some recent mock drafts and my thoughts on each pick as well.

Jonathan Jones – CBS Sports
Pick 22: Treylon Burks, WR, Arkansas
Pick 28: George Karlaftis, Edge, Purdue
Thoughts: Burks is one of the few early-round receivers in this class who mee the typical size requirements that the Green Bay Packers covet at the position–however, he did not test all that well athletically, scoring below 8.0 on the RAS scale. With that said, his ability to pick up YAC and to be moved around the formation makes him a very good fit for Matt LaFleur’s offense–although having a strong go-to option on the boundary would still be a need.
Karlaftis will step in and be the Packers’ third edge rushing option right away–a need that must be filled. When Rashan Gary and Preston Smith weren’t on the field, there was a noticeable dropoff in play. Karlaftis brings power to the position and can play inside as well.
