Although the receiver position has commanded everyone’s attention with the NFL Draft right around the corner — and understandably so — the Green Bay Packers do have other positions that they’ll have to address as well.

While, in general, the receiver depth needs to be improved, specific skill-sets at the position included a go-to option on the boundary for Aaron Rodgers, a downfield threat, and adding some YAC ability to this offense wouldn’t be a bad idea either.

Other pressing needs include added depth at edge rusher, safety, as well as offensive tackle. The Packers also need to plan ahead at tight end, bolster the interior defensive line unit, while finding another option at slot cornerback would be a luxury for Joe Barry, although admittedly, it is not a must like some of the other positions listed.

There are, of course, other needs that I didn’t mention, but the aforementioned positions are the big ones. So it’s one thing to know which positions to address, but who in this draft class can fill those roles? Well, that’s what we are here to discuss.

Below we will go through each of the specific positional needs that have already been listed and highlight a draft prospect in this year’s class who could fill that need for the Green Bay Packers.

Green Bay Packers Need: YAC Receiver

Treylon Burks, WR, Arkansas

Burks really is an ideal fit for Matt LaFleur’s offense. He is able to line up just about anywhere, which we know is important in this system, and is able to make plays with the ball in his hands–an element this Green Bay offense needs.

Last season, Burks was targeted 88 times, according to PFF ($$), with 54 of them coming within 10 yards of the line of scrimmage. He finished the year ranked sixth among all receives in total YAC and 10th in YAC per catch. With Burks, you want to get him the ball quickly, and in space, then let him do the rest.
