The 2022 NFL Draft is less than three weeks away, so it is time for another edition of Mock Draft Roundup & Takeaways. I’ll be taking a look at who several draft analysts have the Green Bay Packers selecting in some recent mock drafts and providing my takeaways and thoughts from each selection.

This time around, the Packers, of course, select plenty of receivers, but they also leave these mock drafts addressing the defense as well.

Pick 22: Chris Olave, WR, Ohio State

Pick 28: Trevor Penning, OT, UNI

Takeaway: I am a big fan of this mock draft. Chris Olave is so smooth and is one of the best route runners in this class. He’s a reliable pass-catcher and can win at all three levels. The Packers need a go-to option, and he is well-suited to be just that for this offense.

With Penning, I can’t recall a mock draft where he fell this far — many have him as a top-15 selection — but I’ll welcome it. With Elgton Jenkins sidelined, the offensive tackle depth could use a serious boost, and we all saw how important it was a season ago. Penning would compete with Yosh Nijman right away for playing time at right tackle, and if he holds his own, it will allow Green Bay to keep Jenkins at guard.
