3 teams Packers could trade Jordan Love to
The Green Bay Packers have a conundrum on their hand with young quarterback Jordan Love. After selecting him in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft and now working on a contract extension with back-to-back MVP that will likely take him through Love’s rookie deal, the Packers have to decide what to do with their backup quarterback.
Although I’m not in favor of trading Love, it’s a possibility Green Bay’s office could explore. There are a lot of teams out there who could be interested in a player at the game’s most premium position who was labeled as a first-round pick just two years ago.
Let’s check out three teams who could call Green Bay and pursue a trade for Love.
If the Green Bay Packers decide to trade young quarterback Jordan Love, here are three potential suitors who could be interested.
Teams that could trade for Jordan Love: New Orleans Saints
The Saints are still trying to figure out their quarterback situation after Drew Brees retired following the 2020 season. Love could give them a long-term solution for the new coaching staff to work with and develop. They have a few offensive weapons in Alvin Kamar and Michael Thomas who would relieve some of the stress from Love to carry the offensive load. Don’t be surprised if they call the Packers.
Teams that could trade for Jordan Love: Indianapolis Colts
The Colts just traded away Carson Wentz to the Washington Commanders one year after they acquired him via a trade. That leaves Indianapolis with a gigantic hole at quarterback, and one that Love could potentially fill. The Colts are probably looking for an immediate answer at the position considering they feel their team is ready to win now. However, Love could be propped up by an excellent running game, offensive line and defense.
Teams that could trade for Jordan Love: Tenessee Titans
The Titans have Ryan Tannehill under center, but Love could give them a contingency plan for the future. The offensive systems are very similar considering Matt LaFleur came from Tenessee which would make it an easier transition for Love. It might be too pricey to give up a high draft pick for a backup quarterback, but if a team had a high grade on Love coming out of the draft it might be a price they are willing to pay.
