Most likely landing spots for Davante Adams: Green Bay Packers

The most likely landing spot for Adams is for the Packers to retain his services. As improbable as that may sound given Green Bay’s current cap situation, there is a path where the Packers can not only get under the cap, but also create enough room to either franchise tag or agree to an extension with Adams. To be clear, it will take a boatload of cuts, restructures, and extensions to make that happen.

All signs are pointing toward Aaron Rodgers returning–he’s talked about his improved relationship with the front office, bringing back Tom Clements as the quarterbacks’ coach, etc. And if Rodgers returns, it’s likely the Packers have sold him on a plan to bring back Adams as well (Rodgers wouldn’t want to return to throw to Amari Rodgers and….I’m not sure who else).

It may not be pretty and Adams may not be happy about it, but the Packers could franchise tag him to keep him in Green Bay while they work out the dirty details.
