Packers’ biggest needs at trade deadline: Tight end

Despite winning the game on Thursday, Green Bay received some horrible news when starting tight end Robert Tonyan went down with an injury and was later ruled out for the rest of the season with a significant knee injury. The Packers still have a plethora of tight ends on their roster–Marcedes Lewis, Dominique Dafney and Josiah Deguara–but none of them are the receiving threat Tonyan was.

After a slow start to the season, Tonyan was coming on strong in the last two games. He’s a big-time target Rodgers knew he could trust, especially in the red zone.

There are a few tight ends rumored to be available that Green Bay could go after at the trade deadline. They could take a lot of pressure off the wide receivers and Rodgers if they add an impact player at this position.
